Tanzbüro Berlin: Overview of funding opportunities in the field of dance and performing arts
During this consultation-workshop, Jenny Haack from the organisation Tanzbüro Berlin will give an insight into possibilities of obtaining financial support as a professional in the fields of performing arts and dance: applying to project funding, residencies, local and international scholarships, thematic or contextual funding programs- such as NEUSTART KULTUR. Moreover, Jenny Haack will touch upon the consulting services and networks related to the dance sector, with focus on Berlin, but also in Germany and on an international level.
Most importantly, this consultation session aims to give space to and centres on the questions of the participants.
The workshop will take place at the Uferstudios in Berlin Wedding, and a tour of the venue will be part of the event.
The participation is open to artists from all disciplines and is free of charge.
To register, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org
Participation in the workshop is limited to 15 participants and is subject to compliance with the current COVID-19 regulations in Germany. Indoors, the wearing of a mouth and nose covering (with a FFP2 or medical mask) is mandatory. We are guided by the currently valid hygiene regulations of the Uferstudios.
The event is accessible for people with mobility impairments. Participants with visual impairments or blindness can be assisted.
“Tanzbüro Berlin was founded in 2005 as a central point of contact for the Berlin dance scene. It provides information both for dance artists and dance enthusiasts. We are committed to advising artists, bringing together stakeholders, ideas and resources, supporting the arts and throwing a spotlight on the city’s varied dance landscape.
Tanzbüro Berlin helps Berlin dance artists with an extensive range of free advice, extending from individual conversations to group seminars, peer-to-peer workshops and our six-month CPD module tandem.”
Jenny Haack has been working in the management duo of Tanzbüro Berlin since May 2021. She first moved to Berlin in the early 1990s and is now strongly rooted in Berlin’s independent dance and art scene. As part of her various activities, she founded and has been directing, since 2017, the “soundance festival berlin”. Additionally, Jenny Haack was a board member of Zeitgenössischer Tanz Berlin, between 2019 and 2021. Her curiosity about new interfaces of dance, art and society shapes her work in the fields of consulting, organisation and networking. As a trained artist and dancer-choreographer, she has also been working as a cultural manager, curator, lecturer and festival director for several years.
