About Artist Pilots

Artist Pilots: we coach, you grow

Artist Pilots is a project of Förderband e.V. Kulturinitiative Berlin. Since 1989, Förderband has been providing support for artistic, cultural and media projects, as well as individual counselling service to artists and cultural workers in Berlin.

The project Artist Pilots supports artists, as well as cultural and media workers who have left their countries of origin because they felt threatened, or could not pursue their professional activities on account of current political situations in their home countries.

We assist these artists and cultural workers in getting to know Berlin’s cultural landscape and in building their local networks.

We offer

Mentoring process: we bring together diverse experienced Berlin-based artists and cultural workers (mentors) and newly arrived international arts, culture and media professionals (mentees).

Networking events: we enable further encounters at different cultural venues, in the form of workshops on relevant topics for newcomers to the arts and culture sector in Berlin.

Counselling services: we offer regular online information sessions and individual advising options to ensure a thorough support for transnational artists, culture and media professionals.

The project Artist Pilots is funded by the programme Weltoffenes Berlin of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe.
